The Blackhawks played only one game the last four days -- a 5-2 win over the visiting Red Wings on Sunday -- but they continued their march up the oddsboard Monday.
Chicago (23-24-9) has won seven straight following a five-game losing skid, scoring at an impressive clip throughout, and their Stanley Cup odds have dropped precipitously during the win streak.
At 500/1 odds only last Monday, the Blackhawks were moved to 200/1 on Wednesday and were listed at 100/1 as of Monday at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook.
Chicago is the hottest team in the league, though still tied for last place in the Central Division. But the Blackhawks are only four points behind the Wild and Blues for the final Western Conference wild card spots with 26 regular-season games remaining.
And the NHL trade deadline is two weeks from Monday, so they still could add a piece or two for the stretch run.Embedded content: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BIPbDoI9iw
Chicago has outscored its opponents 37-20 during its win streak, and the OVER has hit in five straight Blackhawks games and 12 of 13. Chicago has the second most games that have gone OVER in the league this season (34-18-4), behind only San Jose (35-21).
The Blackhawks aren't the only team whose Cup odds are on the move, as the Lightning, who lead the league with 86 points, are 9/2 as of Monday, up from 4/1 last week, while the Blues, winners of six straight, have gone from 80/1 on Friday to 40/1.
